Es geht los! Wir machen uns bei strahlendem Sonnenschein mittags auf den Weg. Wir werden im Laufe des frühen Abend durch die Straße von Gibraltar fahren und danach im Abstand von ca. 40 sm an der afrikanischen Küste entlang Richtung Kanaren segeln.

Es ist schon beeindruckend, wie viel Verkehr in der Straße von Gibraltar herrscht, das Radar leuchtet wie unser nicht vorhandener Weihnachtsbaum...
Weihnachten werden wir auf dem Meer verbringen, das ist für alle ein erstes Mal. Wir werden gemeinsam kochen und es uns so gemütlich wie möglich machen.

Here we go! We set off at midday in bright sunshine. We will sail through the Strait of Gibraltar in the early evening and then sail along the African coast towards the Canary Islands at a distance of approx. 40 nm.
The weather forecast doesn't give us too much hope for wind, but I'm actually fine with that...
It's impressive how much traffic there is in the Strait of Gibraltar, the radar lights up like our non-existent Christmas tree...
We will spend Christmas at sea, it will be a first for everyone. We will cook together and make ourselves as comfortable as possible.
