Ionian Sea

With over 3000 islands, Greece is probably the most diverse sailing area in the world. Anchorages with crystal-clear water, sleepy fishing villages and lively town harbors, historic sites and tavernas with their traditional cuisine and a wide selection of fresh, locally grown ingredients make a sailing trip in Greece an unforgettable experience.

The routes described below are examples and are not necessarily “on schedule”. Depending on the weather conditions or for safety reasons, there may be deviations.

Safety comes first and then the wishes of our guests, so that the final route is often only determined during the course of the trip.

If you prefer to be completely private, the entire yacht is also available for private charter. With this option, check-in and check-out are possible on any day of the week and the route is tailored to your individual wishes. Request availability

Ionian Islands - Ambracian Gulf - Gulf of Patras and Corinth - Peloponnese

At the start of the season and in the fall, we set off from Preveza and Corfu for trips in the Ambracian Gulf and through the Ionian Islands. The area is just coming out of hibernation and the big tourist crowds are not yet or no longer in sight. The Ambracian Gulf in particular is still a real insider tip, largely untouched by mass tourism. There are still some real dream bays here that we have all to ourselves.

As it is almost completely surrounded by land and the water depths are quite shallow throughout, it is a very sheltered area and the water warms up with the first rays of sunshine, so that a dip in the sea is possible even in spring.

To the west of Preveza, the Ionian Islands stretch from north to south. The best known are Corfu, Paxos, Lefkas, Skorpios, Kefalonia, Ithaca and Zakynthos.

We sail to the most beautiful places and best anchorages on these islands and also show you some of the lesser-known but no less enchanting islets, such as Meganisi, Kalomos or Atokos.

Depending on the weather forecast, the sheltered location and short distances in this area mean that we can always sail an optimal trip, during which you can of course also discover the local gastronomy or great places ashore. Look forward to our tips.

The small island of Zakynthos is an ideal stopover destination thanks to its international airport. Special highlights here include the turtle beach in Laganas in the south and the blue caves in the north of the island.

On Kefalonia, a visit to Melissani Cave — with a "gondola ride" on the cave lake — is an impressive experience that you shouldn't miss.

Ithaca, home of the legendary Odysseus: visit the ancient ruins and let yourself be enchanted by mythology.

The northern Ionian islands of Paxos and Corfu attract visitors with their anchorages with crystal-clear water and lush vegetation.

First-time visitors are always amazed at how green it is here.

Corfu also charms with its rich history and well-preserved castle (with museum). Look forward to an evening in the alleys of the old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Gulf of Patras and the Gulf of Corinth offer excellent sailing conditions and plenty of authentic Greece. The very first and last trips of the season take place in this little-known area.

The region has not yet been discovered by mass (boat) tourism.

There are fewer charter yachts here, and the local public harbors offer sufficient space, so that the usual “race” for mooring does not affect the schedule of the trip.

On a week-long round trip or a one-way trip, the sights of this beautiful region can be reached at a leisurely pace.

Highlights include ancient Corinth, passing under the Rio-Andirio Bridge (the second-longest cable-stayed bridge in the world), the lagoon city of Messolonghi (salt museum), traditional Nafpaktos, and the charming village of Galaxidi (an ideal starting point for a trip to Delphi).

The route along the Peloponnese is another rewarding sailing experience.
When traveling from the Ionian Sea to the Aegean Sea or vice versa. An anchor stop off Katakolo is a convenient opportunity to visit ancient Olympia. Further south lies Pylos, a picturesque port town with a rich history and impressive landscapes. The village of Methoni, on the southwestern tip of the Peloponnese, lies at the foot of a historic fortress that towers majestically over the sea. It is the perfect place to immerse yourself in history and enjoy the view.
Other stops include Koroni and Kalamata, known for its delicious olives and impressive old town. It is also ideal for checking in or out due to the nearby airport.
Following the coast eastward, Porto Kago, the enchanting island of Elafonisos with its white sandy beaches, Kyparissi, the island of Spetses, and spectacular Porto Heli are all great places to stop.

The routes are planned in such a way that we can always make a longer stop, for example for a shore excursion or a dive. Perhaps you would prefer to explore historical sites or simply relax with a typical local ouzo or homemade lemonade in a quaint street café.

Route suggestions are non-binding. Changes to the route and / or ports are possible due to navigational needs, safety reasons, weather, or local developments. The decision rests with the organizer and / or the responsible skipper.
