Heute ist Marens letzter Tag, da wollen wir doch wenigstens etwas von der Umgebung sehen: Pigeon Island. Es handelt sich um einen Inselfelsen an der Nordseite der Rodney Bay. Es ist eine wichtige historische Stätte mit mehreren Befestigungsanlagen.
Es gibt zwei Gipfel: Zum einen Signal Hill, der nördlichere und mit 109 m die höchste Erhebung, und auf der südwestlichen Seite Fort Rodney. Von hier aus haben die Engländer die französischen Schiffe von Martinique beobachtet.
Bei gutem Wetter kann man diesen Ausblick auch heute genießen.
Zum Abschluss waren wir noch in der zum Park gehörenden Restauration und haben den bis dato besten Rum-Punch getrunken. Maren hat gleich zwei große Flaschen gekauft und wir haben eine davon pflichtbewusst zum Abschied geleert....
Today is Maren's last day, so we want to at least see something of the surrounding area: Pigeon Island. It is an island rock on the north side of Rodney Bay. It is an important historical site with several fortifications.
There are two peaks: Signal Hill, the northern one and the highest point at 109 m, and Fort Rodney on the southwest side. From here the English observed the French ships from Martinique.

Finally, we went to the park's restaurant and drank the best rum punch to date. Maren bought two large bottles and we dutifully emptied one of them when we said goodbye...
