Endlich geht es los! Wir haben so lange davon geträumt und geplant - jetzt ist es soweit. Ein ganzes Jahr auf unserer FRIENDSHIP, das ist der Plan. Ich freue mich, aber ich bin auch nervös: Wie wird sich meine Seekrankheit entwickeln? Wie ist es, wochenlang nur Wasser zu sehen? Geht man sich dann nicht doch auf den Zeiger? Werde ich meine latente Angst in den Griff bekommen? Andererseits, werden wir viele neue Orte entdecken, Länder erkunden, Abenteuer erleben, neue Menschen kennenlernen - also, los geht's!
Wir haben die letzten Tage im Hotel verbracht, da die Wohnung übergeben ist und ich noch die restliche Woche gearbeitet habe. Heute Morgen hat uns der der Deutsche Fahrdienst, ein Shuttle-Service, mit dem wir schon früher gute Erfahrungen gemachte haben, abgeholt. Wir sind das erste Mal Business-Class geflogen, da wir so mehr Gepäck mitnehmen konnten. Ich bin so aufgeregt!
Wir holen jetzt noch den Leihwagen für die kommenden Tage ab und dann geht es zur Werft. Die FRIENDSHIP steht noch an Land und soll Montag wieder ins Wasser kommen. Dann geht es endgültig los.
Das Wetter lässt im Augenblick noch ein wenig zu wünschen übrig, aber es soll besser werden.
It's finally beginning! We've been dreaming and planning for this for so long - now it's here. A whole year on our FRIENDSHIP, that's the plan. I'm happy, but I'm also nervous: how will my seasickness develop? What's it like to only see water for weeks? Does one not get on each others goat? Will I get my latent fear under control? On the other hand, we will discover many new places, explore new countries, have adventures, meet new people - so let's go!
We spent the last few days in a hotel because the apartment was handed over and I worked for the rest of the week. This morning the Deutsche Fahrdienst, a shuttle service with which we have had good experiences in the past, picked us up. We flew business class for the first time because we could take more luggage with us. I'm so excited!
We'll now pick up the rental car for the next few days and then we'll go to the shipyard. The FRIENDSHIP is still on the hard and should be back in the water on Monday. Then it finally starts.
The weather leaves a little to be desired at the moment, but it is supposed to get better.
