So langsam geht es voran. Wir können das eine oder andere Projekt abhaken. Unter anderem die "Ankerketten-Laufrinne". Unser Ankerkasten befindet sich im vorderen Drittel vom Rumpf und nicht - wie bei den meisten Einrumpfbooten - direkt vorne am Bug. Also muss die Kette vom Ankerkasten nach vorne - eben durch diese Ankerketten-Laufrinne. Beim Fallenlassen und noch viel mehr beim Anker aufgehen, schlägt die Kette rechts und links an den Seiten an. Bisher war dort nur GFK und das sah mittlerweile ein wenig mitgenommen aus. Daher hat Rainer jetzt auch für die Seiten Starboard besorgt und alles angepasst. Die untere Matte musste raus und gesäubert werden. Dann mussten die beiden Seitenteile angepasst, die Bohrlöcher für die Schrauben gesetzt, alle Bohrlöcher mit Sika eingeschmiert (Wasserdichtigkeit) und direkt angeschraubt werden. Und zwar jetzt "durchgebolzt", also Schrauben mit Muttern auf der Gegenseite - davor war das nur mit "Spax"-Schrauben befestigt, die sich mit der Zeit gelöst haben. Das Ergebnis zeigt, dass sich die Mühe gelohnt hat!
Things are slowly moving forward. We can tick off one or two projects. One of them is the "anchor chain trough". Our anchor locker is located in the front third of the hull and not - as with most monohulls - directly at the front of the bow. So the chain from the anchor locker has to go forwards - through this anchor chain channel. When dropping and even more so when raising the anchor, the chain hits the sides on the right and left. Previously, there was only GRP there and that looked a little worn by now. That's why Rainer has now got Starboard for the sides and adapted everything. The lower mat had to be removed and cleaned. Then the two side parts had to be adapted, the drill holes for the screws had to be drilled, all the drill holes had to be smeared with Sika (to make them watertight) and screwed on directly. And now "through-bolted", i.e. screws with nuts on the opposite side - before this was only fastened with "Spax" screws, which came loose over time. The result shows that the effort was worth it!
