Sailing in Italy and Corsica

Discover Sicily with it's vulcano and historical sites, visit the glamorous Costa Smeralda and Maddalena archipelago in Sardinia or sail with us to Napoleon's birthplace on Corse during our cruises in spring and autumn 24.

Springtime Cruises in Bella Italia                    Circumnavigation of Sicily

We start our season with a circumnavigation of Sicily with plenty of time for excursions ashore and to enjoy the Dolce Vita, but also for a dive into the sea while at anchor in cristal clear water.

Planned stops are in  Syracus, known for its ancient ruins and the Neapolis Archaeological Park with its Roman amphitheatre and the Orecchio di Dionisio, a limestone cave shaped like a human ear.

Catania, the historic port at the foot of Mount Etna.

Taormina, the spetacular little town on steep hills.

The route leads through the "Stretto", Messina Straight which divides Sicily from the mainland, to the Eolian Islands with stops on Lipari and Filicudia.

We continue our trip to the North coast of Sicily with a stop in the modern Marina of Capo d'Orlando and the small town of Céfalu before we reach our destination in Palermo.

We take our time to offer another (very leisure) cruise from Palermo into the Eolian Islands and back to Palermo, before we set off to complete this tour around Sicily.

This part of the trip has more of a Trans-Med / Long Distance character and suits the more ambitioned sailors whose focus is to rather be at sea than ashore.

First stop is planned in Castellamare del Golfo, before we set course for Capo San Vito, the very NW-ern end of Sicily.

The tour then leads us back South to the Island of Favignana, from where we take a long leg towards  Agrigent on the South coast of Sicily. After we have taken some time to rest we lift anchor again for the next and final leg to Syracus.

Though more of a Long Distance cruise, we still planned enough time to be able to sail in the most possible nice weather and also explore interesting places ashore while waiting for the right breeze.

Autumn Cruises in the Thyrennian Sea       Corsica and Sardinia

When the mass of tourists have disappeared we come ;-)

Part one of these cruises starts from Olbia, the southern point of the famous Costa Smeralda. We follow this coastline with a stop in Cala di Volpe and sail into the La Maddalena Archipelago. Expect bays with clear blue water, a pink beach and a lot of "Dolce Vita.

Next destination is the port of Bonifacio on Corsica Island with its spectacular entrance through a narrow channel that cuts through more than 60m high chalk cliffs. The journey continues along the Corsican West coast to Propriano and to the Capital Ajaccio, Napoleon's birthplace. The Maison Bonaparte and the baroque cathedral are well worth a visit.

Via an anchor stop in La Girolata we continue to Calvi, where the old town sits enthroned on a mountain above the harbour.

Part two of this journey has more the character of a long-distance cruise. We start with a leg from Calvi to the Bay of Ajaccio before we set sails for a night-cruise to Sardinia. Arrival in the port of Alghero is in the morning, so there is plenty of time to explore this unique place with its Catalan-Gothic style buildings and the coral museum.

Next we have a 90 nm day cruise along the scenic coast to Carloforte. After a days rest on San Pietro island we lift anchor for our final destination Cagliari with its pitoresque Castello district that rises on a hilltop above the town.
