Wir “schlingern” Fayal entgegen. Enorme Wellen rollen von hinten an und schieben uns Richtung Horta.
Noch 43 sm. Der Ruf “Land in Sicht” wird wohl erst kommen, wenn wir schon fast da sind, da die Sicht heute eher bescheiden ist.
Draußen ist alles grau in grau und oft ist ein wenig Nieselregen in der Luft.
Umso besser ist die Stimmung aber hier drin im Salon, Luca hat Geburtstag und Tom hat es tatsächlich geschafft, einen “Geburtstagskuchen” zu backen, dazu die Freude, bald anzukommen. Alles in
allem ein festlicher Freitag für uns.
Heute Morgen um 07:30 war zum ersten Mal wieder was auf dem Funk zu hören, zwar nur bruchstückhaft, aber ein sicheres Zeichen, dass wir uns Land nähern
Um unser gesetztes Ziel, heute noch in Horta anzukommen zu erreichen, haben wir seit gestern Nachmittag die Motoren mitlaufen. Mittlerweile haben wir die Segel komplett eingepackt, weil der Wind
sehr in Richtung und Stärke schwankt. Dadurch können wir jetzt direkten Kurs auf Horta halten. ETA 16:30 (18:30 UTC)
Da wir unterschiedliche Angaben dazu haben, welche Ortszeit auf den Azoren gerade gilt, hoffen wir einfach, dass noch jemand in der Marina ist, der uns noch einen Platz zuweisen kann.
Bisher hat das mit dem Daumen drücken gut geklappt, Danke ;-) … und drückt weiter.
Nächste Meldung kommt dann hoffentlich aus dem Hafen.

“Sliding” towards Fayal, enormous waves are rolling in from astern and are pushing
us towards Horta.
Still 43 nm - the call “land in sight” will probably only be when we are nearly there, as there’s no good visibility today.
Outside it’s grey in grey and most of the time there is some drizzle in the air.
But inside we are all in a good mood. It’s Luca’s birthday today and Tom has even managed to bake a “birthday-cake”, add the joy of arriving soon - makes a pretty
festive-Friday for us.
This morning at 07:30 we heard the first time some calls on VHF-Radio, still very interrupted, but a safe indicator, that we are getting close to land.
To reach our goal to arrive today, we have been running the engines since yesterday afternoon. Currently we have taken down all sails as the wind is changing in
direction and strength a lot. Like this we can keep a straight course towards Horta. ETA 16:30 (18:30 UTC)
We have different information about the Local Time on the Azores, so we can just hope that there will still be someone in the marina to guide us to a
berth.
