Es ist soweit! Wir sitzen tatsächlich im Flieger von Amsterdam nach Trinidad. Die letzten beiden Tage waren nochmal anstrengend, wir mussten die gesamte Wäsche waschen, die Koffer entsprechend den erlaubten Gewichten packen und nichts vergessen, Papierkram erledigen, und und und....
Wir sind gestern Nachmittag in Frankfurt angekommen und wollten schon mal unser Gepäck einchecken, aber das ging nicht, d.h., wir haben unser Hotel storniert, weil wir keine Lust hatten, die schweren Koffer (3 Stück) und das Handgepäck (4 Taschen) hin und her zu schleppen, und haben die Nacht im Flughafen verbracht - das hatten wir anders in Erinnerung (vor 10 Jahren war das noch kein großes Problem, aber jetzt sage ich nur "Rücken"). Heute Morgen standen wir dann um 4.00 Uhr am Schalter (wir waren nicht die ersten) und haben auf den Baggage-Drop gewartet und tatsächlich, um 5.20 Uhr war es dann soweit....
Aber das ist jetzt alles vergessen und vorbei, wir sind hier im Flieger, gleich kommt unsere erste Mahlzeit (es gibt drei!!) und das Entertainment-Programm ist ebenfalls super - ein Hoch auf KLM.
The time has come! We are actually on the plane from Amsterdam to Trinidad. The last two days were exhausting again, we had to do all the laundry, pack the suitcases according to the permitted weights and not forget anything, do paperwork, and and and....
We arrived in Frankfurt yesterday afternoon and wanted to check in our luggage, but that didn't work, i.e. we canceled our hotel because we didn't feel like lugging the heavy suitcases (3 pieces) and hand luggage (4 bags) back and forth, and spent the night in the airport - we remembered it differently (10 years ago it wasn't a big problem, but now I just say "spine"). This morning we stood at the counter at 4.00 am (we weren't the first) and waited for the baggage drop and sure enough, at 5.20 am it was time....
But that's all forgotten and over now, we're here on the plane, our first meal is coming soon (there are three!!) and the entertainment program is also great - cheers to KLM.
