Es wird fleißig gewerkelt. So langsam nehmen die Verlängerungen Gestalt an und man kann sich vorstellen, wie es aussehen wird. Am Ende werden wir ca. 2 Fuss länger sein als vorher. Aber der Plan ist nicht, dass wir länger werden, sondern dass die Enden der Rümpfe ein wenig aus dem Wasser kommen und sich beim Segeln nicht mehr "festsaugen", also dass wir etwas schneller segeln können (Rainer meint, dass könnte ca. 0,5 kn bringen). Außerdem wird so der Bewuchs aufhören, bisher haben wir in der Rinne, die dort vorher war, immer einen grünen Bart mit uns rumgeschleppt. Dadurch, dass die Enden jetzt nicht mehr unter Wasser liegen und auch keine Rinne mehr da sein wird, sollte auch das Problem gelöst sein....Das Beste daran: wir haben dadurch auf jeder Seite eine erweiterte Badeplattform und auch das Ein- und Aussteigen ins Beiboot wird viel komfortabler!
Work is in progress. The extensions are slowly taking shape and you can imagine what it will look like. In the end, we will be about 2 feet longer than before. But the plan is not to make us longer, but to get the ends of the hulls out of the water a little so that they don't get "stuck" when sailing, so that we can sail a little faster (Rainer thinks this could add about 0.5 knots). It will also stop the fouling; up to now we have always dragged around a green beard in the channel that was there before. Now that the ends are no longer under water and there will no longer be a channel, this problem should also be solved....The best thing about it: we will have an extended bathing platform on each side and getting in and out of the dinghy will also be much more comfortable!
